I am an astrophysicist and professor of physics and astronomy at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. My research focuses on spiral galaxies that are edge-on to the line of sight. By viewing systems with this orientation it is possible to study the faint halos (gas, dust and magnetic fields) that surround the thin spiral disks. The background image of this web site is an example and shows a composite of 30 galaxies made by myself and Jayanne English. See our press release for more information.
On cleaning up my disk recently, I found this little ditty that I wrote for fun in 2015 -- meant for astrophysicists.
